BLOG-Fitness Journey#Part 2

After a short stint at Daves gym I finally left my hometown of 20+ years and moved to yorkshire to save for travelling with my partner at the time.

If im being honest I always had a love for Cardiff and hated the thought of leaving but new adventures awaited me.

YORKSHIRE!

After a year of working 4 jobs and training 3-5 times a week in between learning handstand in the kitchen of David Lloyd and voluntarily lifting any heavy object in sight my body was changing.

being obsessed with getting massive I had gone from a skinny 9st weakling to a slightly bigger 13.5 st Although I never felt big enough so I continued smashing down tins of tuna as snacks drinking weird and wonderful protein shakes, taking every supplement under the sun, obsessing about every stupid variable like eating garlic to raise testosterone and if I mix coffee and creatine will it counter the effects, reading every article that agreed with what I wanted to do.

In summary I was a boring T**T who lived to eat and get massive the kinda guy I avoid talking to in the gym now.

So when the “big” guys in the gym seem to think im not massive enough to give them advice I think screw you I know the struggle I just choose to get a PB on my Deadlift or Do a full ROM pull up instead of Breaking the world record for most Grunts during a Set of Bicep swings or pulling my top up after every set of Skull Krushers to see if my abs have grown.

That wasnt meant to come out so much like a rant :/ #sorrynotsorry

I was finally ready to travel but one thing dawned on me…how am I going to train without fancy machines and heavy weights. It was always niggling at me and I couldn’t exactly bring a kettlebell on as hand luggage.

not having much access to tablets or instant access to apps I had  to take a few books on fitness and bodyweight training and my trusty skipping rope this was the first step in my discovery of the joys of Bodyweight training.

I want to thank all my clients in Abergavenny for all their support and hard work and I wish them well in the future, It has been a pleasure working with you.

I have seen my fair share of personal challenges and Tough times and I have made the decision to move home to Cardiff aka the motherland 🙂 to start a new adventure and find a nice work/life balance and being as ninja as possible.

I am now working from Fit4less in Cardiff Bay and Offering Mobile PT in the roath and Cardiff area.

Nothing much to Report now but keep your eyes peeled for new offers and Hopefully getting my arse in gear and setting up my Blog.

 

 

New Class: Bootcamp

I’m pleased to announce the launch of a new Bootcamp class! The class takes place every Wednesday at 7pm in Llanfoist, priced at just £3.50 per person.

We’re currently hosting on the multi-use games area behind Llanfoist Village Hall, and soon hope to be moving to the football pitches.

Please note that HIIT Circuits at Crickhowell Community Sports Centre will be taking place only on a Saturday from the beginning of August.

This is down to it being a bit of a logistical nightmare to make the Wednesday class work at the moment, but I am hoping to put on an extra Bootcamp style class in the near future. Watch this space for further details.

HIIT & Flex and HIIT Circuits classes will continue as usual on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Please note that from 18th July, all fitness classes will be £3.50 per person.

This is in order to keep prices consistent, whilst ensuring all overheads are covered. Still a great price, I hope you’d agree!

Classes will resume as normal after these dates.

I will also have limited P.T. slots between 11th – 17th July inclusive, but will try to fit you in wherever possible.

Terms & Conditions

All entrants must be 16 and over.
All sessions are subject to availability and must be booked in advance.
Any new clients are obliged to undertake an initial consultation, which will include a health check. If any health issues arise then a doctor’s note may be required or training may not be able to take place.
Sessions can be used locally at a client’s home within Abergavenny (with potential for home sessions outside of this area by agreement), in a public space within Abergavenny or at David Perkins Fitness’ property in Abergavenny.
The prize can be redeemed at any point in the month. Month will begin upon first session date(not consultation date), and will end on the same date of the following month (e.g. if first session on 20th July, training will end on 20th August).
Any session cancelled within 24 hours of the start time will be forfeit and will count as a used session.
If the winner is unable to claim the prize then a new winner will be drawn.
Initial consultation must be booked within 3 months of competition draw and first session within 1 month of consultation.
